The certification is given by B Lab, a global nonprofit network transforming the global economy to benefit all people, communities and the planet.

The B Corp certification applies to both The Sak and Sakroots, two labels that fall under its corporate umbrella The Sak Brand Group. Together, they form the largest handbag company to be certified as a B Corp.

What initiatives has The Sak implemented to become B Corp ceritified?
We focus our sustainability efforts around three brand pillars: people, product and planet. We have committed to sourcing sustainable materials and treating people at every point in the supply chain fairly and equitably. We made a pledge to produce 100% of our products using sustainable materials by 2024, a goal we are proud to annouce we have accomplished.

How are companies certified?
To achieve the certification, companies are audited by B Lab on a points system that evaluates their overall positive impact and commits them to a continuous improvement process.
